Just 28 miles outside of Philadelphia, at the junction of French Creek and the Schuylkill River, you will find a charming Chester County borough full of arts, music, culture, history, and wellness.   On the map, it's called Phoenixville, but I call it home.

It's not surprising that this little town has been named one of "10 Awesome Neighborhoods To Call Home" and even "The Most Charming Towns and Small Cities in Pennsylvania."  When I first stepped foot here in the late 1990s, I knew immediately that this was where I wanted to stay.

Many residents remember that the Phoenixville of the '90s was very different than it is today.  Our beloved downtown area was not filled with families joyfully milling around Bridge street or having a blast at one of our many festivals.  It wasn't until the "rebirth" that the town, formally known as Manavon, was again alive.

From 2002 to 2012, I had the pleasure of experiencing firsthand this rebirth when I worked at Steel City Coffee House on the corner of Bridge Street and Main Street.  For years, I was honored to serve you coffee, listen to your stories, and meet your friends and family.  I watched you and your children grow into talented musicians at the Thursday night open mic nights.  And I raised my three kids there!  But what stands out the most is that through the renaissance of our town, we grew closer as a community, which is a beautiful thing.

When I started practicing Reiki in 2015,  I never imagined I would be part of the Phoenixville community as a small business owner one day.  However, as I reflect on my journey through the years, I can see how I got here.   Since I arrived here, I've always been in service to the community.  Whether slinging coffee on Bridge Street, supporting future leaders as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, helping teachers entertain their class as a homeroom mom, or being a PTA member at the elementary school, I was always working to improve the lives of our community members.  And today, as a Reiki Master, that is my number one goal.  Because when our people are well, our community is well.

I watched our town rise from the ashes like the mighty Phoenix, and like the Phoenix, so can you.  My mission as a Phoenixville Reiki Master is to help our community members reconnect with themselves and rekindle that fire that burns inside them so they can live the life that makes them thrive.  Through Reiki, we all have the power to rise and thrive.  In the words of my favorite superhero's unfortunate uncle, "With great power comes great responsibility," and it is my responsibility to support you.
