Qigong is the study and practice of cultivating vital life-force through various techniques, including:
Qi means "breath" or "air" and is considered the "vital-life-force" or "life-force energy." Qigong practitioners believe that this vital life force penetrates and permeates everything in the universe.
Gong means "work" or "effort" and is the commitment an individual puts into any practice or skill that requires time, patience, and repetition to perfect.
Through study, the individual aims to develop the ability to manipulate Qi in order to promote self-healing, prevent disease, and increase longevity.

Do you find that winter’s shorter days and frigid temperatures dampen your spirits or diminish your energy? For a lot of people, navigating Pennsylvania winters can be a challenge. This November through March, Reiki Wings will host a Winter Wellness Circle. During this new gathering, we’ll come together within the Circle to cultivate camaraderie, and utilize various mindfulness practices as a means of shifting our mentality from surviving to thriving. We’ll journey together as a community, discovering how to embrace and embody Yin energy, making the most of what winter wants to teach us.
Each meeting will begin with a brief check-in, during which we may discuss the issues and obstacles we’re facing. Following our time of sharing, we’ll engage in a variety of practices – from journaling to meditation to qigong – that will assist us in channeling Yin energy and strengthening mental clarity. There will be a group chat that members can opt into, where we’ll stay connected throughout the week. In that context, we’ll offer daily encouragement and share prompts for fostering gratitude, prioritizing self-care, and cultivating community.
You don’t have to go it alone! Join us as we welcome winter and come together to create a circle of warmth and light that will help to sustain us throughout the season.
Our circle will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 6 pm-7 pm, beginning November 3 and ending on March 16.
